Born and raised on the south coast of the UK, Toby’s passion for outdoor adventure was fueled by the world of watersports and micro-adventures. After completing an outdoor adventure-focused high school course, he began guiding a range of outdoor sports for people with disabilities and at-risk youths. This evolved into teaching advanced paddlesports courses across the UK.

Toby completed a degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Management in the UK and an Environmental and Outdoor Education placement at the University of Minnesota. After being exposed to the wonders and scale of the North American outdoors, he relocated across the pond, working as a sea kayak guide on Lake Superior and leading canoe expeditions in the Boundary Waters. Seeking the next adventure, Toby decided that British Columbia’s Sea to Sky corridor was the obvious choice! A prime location for backcountry skiing and steep creek kayaking, the Sea to Sky has now been his home for four years.

He is stoked to be a part of the CMC team sharing his love for technical gear and helping people head out on the next adventure.
