Hugo Voyer

Growing up in Quebec, Hugo was introduced to the outdoors through paddling and skiing. Mountain sports came later, during college, where he met a group of long-standing friends, leading to mountaineering trips in the Rockies, Cascades and on Denali in the late 90s.  Discovering the possibility that skiing touring offered, while living in Whistler for a gap year, backcountry skiing quickly became a central part of his life.

After studying electronics, tourism and marketing, Hugo began working in the outdoor industry in a few different roles; from sales staff to product development, buying and product management for a variety of retail stores across the country over the past 25 years.

When not playing outside, he loves spending time in the kitchen and traveling, sometimes mixing both like a cooking class in Turkey. On top of being a dad to an amazing teenage daughter, Hugo has been involved with SAR for over 10 years and continues to work in Outdoor Education with youth school programs, guiding multi-day trips.

Whether it’s on a mountain, in a canyon, on a bike trail, on a river or the ocean, Hugo is always looking for his next adventure…
